Our Football Teams had a good year, considering that they were so light. We had the lightest weight High School team in Virginia, but we always put up a good fight, as all our opponents will testify. We lost to Maury, but we were outweighed twenty to thirty pounds to the man. When we do have some "horses" up here we are going to have real revenge. We played Newport News a very close game, 7-0, and in our second game with them we made a touchdown, which was the first made on them by any school in two years. Suffolk, the team nearest our weight, we defeated easily. Hampton we fought to a tie. Although we lost quite a few games, we were given credit for having one of the scrappiest teams in this section. Fourteen of the eighteen men composing the squad will be back next year. Maury, be careful.
