The highlight of the season was the team breaking a 17 game losing streak. Hats off to our seniors who hopefully have brought a new sense of winning to our football program.
The lost seniors will be greatly missed. They are Tim Reardon, Laurice Parham, Lance Stanaway, Willie Glenn, Brad Lewin, Diamond Staton, Jowan Harrell, LaShawn Hen-derson, Donte Barnes, and Theodore Collins. These seniors have set standards of pride and a tradition to strive hard and never quit. This tradition has rubbed off on our returning players, as they have already begun to prepare for the 1997-98 Football season.

A Rebuilding Year For JV Footbal
JUNIOR VARSITY
FOOTBALL 1996-1997
Our Junior Varsity Footbal!
Team had a very competitive
season with the highlight being
a big win over Churchland.
Offensively the J.V.’s were lec
by Dennis Self, quarterback and Mohonda Whitfield, wide-reciver.
Defensively the J.V.’s were led by Gregory Gilmore, line-backer.
The leading rusher for the J.V.’s was Michael Ellis. Coack
Cassell praised the team for their work effort and winning attitude. Look out Eastern District in ‘97-98.

The Woodrow Wilson Girls Volleyball Team had its most successful season ever this year. The team’s record was 4 wins and 8 losses. However, this represents the most wins in a single season the volleyball team has ever had. (The team had only won 4 matches in all the previous years combined). The serving of Nikki Goral and solid attacking of senior Carrie Holley, helped the team greatly. Dee Dee Fox led the team in saves. Carrie Holley’s leadership and determination will be mis-sed next year.
Softball ... Up To Bat
Girls Softball is a sport that takes many talents. It also re\quires you to concentrate and work hard together as a team to reach the same goals. This year’s softball team is a very experienced team made up of mostly juniors and seniors. Coming off a disappointing season last year, we had a lot to prove to ourselves and school. With a little more dedication, we had a very good chance to win the conference title and even on to the state playoffs. With a little love and understanding of each teammate and the willingness to be a softball family, we should have a lot of fun this year and the only way to have fun is to win.
