Shirley is a Senior registered in homeroom 124. In school, she is the Senior class representative of the S.C.A., and is a member of C.O.E. Outside of school, Shirley likes to stay in bed longer than usual. She enjoys talking on the phone with her friends, and she likes to skate. In the evenings, she prefers to spend time at home enjoying her family.

The returning class of 49½-50 revisited their old alumnus
once again on Friday October 16. In their honor a special
assembly was given and after the assembly the S.C.A.
treated them to a party. On homecoming night they were
given a special tribute from the band and were given the honored seats in the stadium.

First came the long hot summer days and practice, practice, practice, so that once again they would be ready to cheer on the mighty fighting Presidents. Although tryouts were a disappointment with only fourteen girls trying out for twelve positions, the squad was in- dependent and strong. With a new varsity squad except for one returning, it was a real challenge to bring together a great and inspiring group. This year's teams, especially basketball, gave the cheerleaders a big job as far as directing spirit and we feel they did an incredible job

The Junior Varsity cheerleaders, sponsored by Mrs. Debbie Leigh,
had a great year cheering for the J.V. athletic teams and cheering in the stands during Varsity games. Besides promoting spirit around the school, our J.V. cheerleaders sold game programs, homecoming flowers, and had other money making projects. They worked hard all year to develop Wilson's spirit in its Junior Varsity athletics.
