The Woodrow Wilson High School Band was very active this 1975-76 year. Along with the many football game halftime shows, the "Marching Presidents" participated in the Tidewater Marching Band Field Competition at Indian River High School and the Wake Forest University Field Competition
held at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At the latter competition the Band received a trophy for outstanding performance. The Parades included the Suffolk Jaycee’s Bicentennial Parade, Oyster Bowl Parade, Portsmouth Jaycee's Christmas Parade, Azalea Festival Parade, and Portsmouth Memorial Day Parade.
The Concert Band was equally involved in representing the school during this year. Both Winter and Spring Concerts were fine examples of the musicianship of the group. At the District IV Festival the Band was rated highly. During the year both Concert and Marching Bands strived to be as outstanding a group as possible and to represent Woodrow Wilson High School as best as they could.
