ENGLISH
Headed by Miss Marion Ransom, the English department has a variety of course offerings. Academic, as well as elective classes, are available for all students.
   English classes are developed in different levels to accommodate each individual's ability.  Eighth Honors, a new course for eighth graders, is designed for students who have superior ability in English skills.
    In each course, specific reading and writing skills are still required.

MATH
SCIENCE
   The Mathematics Department offers to the students at Woodrow Wilson a variety of Math courses. Some of these courses are designed to develop concepts and skills that will enable the students to become effective consumers.  Other courses are designed to lay a foundation for those students whose career plans require ad-vanced mathematics.
   Students in the various courses have the opportunity to par-ticipate in contests that should stimulate and challenge them.  National Mathematics tests and individual college tests in Mathe-matics and engineering are also available to the interested stu-dent.

   The major goal of the Science De-partment is to provide instruction for living in the ever-changing world.  The Science Department enhances instruction and citizen-ship by providing, laboratory ex-
periences, solving techniques and to "learn by doing".
   The Science Department plans for many things of interest each year.  One is the Science Club for students with special interests.  You could also take part in the computer Group.  This group com- 
petes against other schools in the Tidewater Area. They also plan exciting field trips to places like Washington D.C. and the Luray Caverns.
