McNair, J. Cook. In the S.E. District Meet, Wilson
placed 1st in field events and 4th in the running
events.
SOFTBALL
The Wilson Softball team had its first win since 1987, which broke a 31 game losing streak. The overall record was 3 wins and 13 losses. The team defeated Portsmouth Catholic (11-7), Alliance Christian (30-1), and Oscar Smith (7-0).
Members to be selected All District Honorable Mention were Kristina Reed,
Krissy Sparks and Claudia Musser. All Portsmouth Second Team were Kristina
Reed, Krissy Sparks and Claudia Musser. All Portsmouth Honorable Mention were Amy Adams, Kristin Ruth, and Stephanie Cowan. Kristina Red was selected as an alternate to the Virginia East-West All Star game. She was also named the Senior Female Athlete of the Year for Wilson High School. Kristie Acors was named the Senior Female Athlete of the Year with the highest G.P.A. for Wilson. The team’s Most Valuable Player was Kristina Reed. The Most Im-proved Player was Stephanie Cowan. Amy Adams had the highest batting average. Krissy Sparks was awarded the Golden Glove.
